STARE on Spotify

STARE

Listen to it HERE !!!

New album : HITNRUN

Hannah Ford annonce dans une interview (sur BB6) la finalisation d'un album princier : HITNRUN. Hardrocklover en fera partie. L'album a été joué lors de la soirée à la Maison Blanche en juin dernier.

Rock star Prince has finished a new album, his band 3rd Eye Girl have revealed to the BBC.

"It's phenomenal, there are so many hits on this album. It's super experimental," they told 6 Music.
Prince's 38th studio record, it will be called The Hit & Run Album, a reference to his "pop-up" concert tours, where gigs are announced on the day.

The band - Donna Grantis, Ida Nielsen and Hannah Ford Welton - added that the album would be out "soon".
It was written with Hannah's husband, Joshua Welton, who co-produced Prince's 2014 release Art Official Age.

In an exclusive interview with 6 Music's Matt Everitt, 3rd Eye Girl confirmed that new song Hardrocklover - which Prince posted online on 1 July - was the album's first single.

"Super hardcore Prince fans that know every song he's ever recorded - we refer to them as 'The Purple Collective' or 'The Purple Army' - this album is absolutely for them, because it's super funky. It's weird, there's a lot of experimental sound. It's just hit after hit and definitely caters to those fans who just love to hear what Prince has to say, rather than wanting to always hear that classic Purple Rain Prince sound."

The band said the first they heard of the record when Joshua Welton was DJing at the aftershow party for Prince's White House concert in Washington DC in June.

"We had a big party, it was awesome, Stevie Wonder was there. We were all just dancing and Joshua was DJing and he just started playing all these super funky songs and one of those was Hardrocklover," said guitarist Grantis.

"He's throwing out joint after joint and they're all funky, like each new one is funkier than the last. "It was all new music and everybody was having a good time, digging it. Little did we know that we were just jamming to a completely new album that was just finished that Joshua and Prince had done."

The Hit & Run Album will also feature a version of 1,000 Hugs and Kisses - a previously unreleased track which dates back to the Diamonds and Pearls era - and a new version of This Could Be Us from Art Official Age.

"This Could Be Us is such a classic tune that's so beautiful and the lyrics are amazing, the production is phenomenal," said the band. "But then when you hear this new version on the Hit & Run CD, it is totally different - super cool, really industrial sounding."

"Joshua and Prince just totally flipped it and turned it into something completely new. "Also there's a song called 1,000 Hugs and Kisses that is just a super slow jam, to dance with your husband or your wife on the dance floor, it's a really dope, feel-good love song."

The new album may come as a surprise to fans as Prince released two albums, Plectrumelectrum and Art Official Age, in September last year.

"Everything happens really fast here," the band said. "When an idea comes... it's translated to the musicians or whoever's working on it and then recorded and laid down relatively quick and then it's put out. "Every day there's something new. It could be one song, it could be a group of songs, you never know."

3rd Eye Girl said fans would get to hear the album "hopefully soon", but details of the release were still being worked out.
"It's definitely something we're thinking is going to be released right away, it's just not been nailed down yet. "I can't wait for everybody to get this album, it's going to be amazing. "It's definitely in discussion, so as soon as we get those details I'm sure we'll announce it and get it out to everybody immediately."

Prince's last two albums, Art Official Age and PlectrumElectrum, were released through Warner Bros, the label with which he had the much-publicised "slave" dispute in the 1990s. It is not clear whether their deal with the enigmatic musician would also cover the new record.

Morris Day and the Time Condensate at the Santa Monica Pier

Morris Day and The Time
Twilight Concert Series
Santa Monica Pier
7/9/15

"A feeling just came over me. I'm feeling sexy right now. I want to share that sexiness with each and every one of you" said Morris Day on Thursday night as he held court from a large, futuristic stage set up on the Santa Monica Pier. Day and his seven-piece touring group, The Time, were there to open the 31st annual Twilight Concert series at the pier, free to the public.
One only needs to look to Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars's 'Uptown Funk' to understand the influence the band and its fearless pimp-suited leader have had on a younger generation. Day acknowledged as much when about midway through the hour-long set he said: "I can kiss myself I'm so pretty...where do you think he gets that stuff from, Santa Monica?"

Despite his claims to not be sweating newer competition ("I don't sweat, I condensate") most likely, Day is flattered. On the band's official Facebook page is a video clip of Mark Ronson's Brit Award acceptance speech for 'Uptown Funk' in which Ronson acknowledges the Time's influence.
Most of the concert-goers came early, staking a claim to a spot on the sand next to the pier. Food vendors and a cash wine and beer bar lined the boardwalk in front of the stage. L.A. native Dȃm-Funk (he's the co-founder of the weekly Funkmosphere at The Virgil) sent his solitary brand of funkiness into the salty air, at times busting out a keytar.
I approached a middle-aged man who was lined up near the front of the stage. Originally from Minneapolis, he is local a keyboardist named Ethan Baker (aka "Shake n'Bake") and tells me he likes to see Morris Day and the Time whenever they are in town. "Morris Day is a true entertainer. He's from the old school. He doesn't just stand there; he performs...that's what people came to see, a true performer. I remember Morris Day and them back in the days...he played with Prince and Grand Central."
Morris Day is forever linked with The Purple One. Over 35 years ago, when Prince and Day were mere teenagers, they formed a band (that was Grand Central.) They split, but later Prince put together another band, as a counterpoint to his own and called it The Time. Morris and his band then became famous when he was cast as Prince's arch-nemesis and leader of a rival band, in the cult classic movie Purple Rain.
The current lineup consists of three original Time members: Day, keyboardist Monte Moir and the legendary drummer Jellybean Johnson.
The group took to the stage to a sonorous synth, turning their backs turned to the audience. Then Day came out in full zoot-suit regalia, diamond rings flashing, leading the band in "Get Up"
then "Cool." Each song pounded into the next as Day and his valet--a butler character named Jerome in the movie-- went through tightly choreographed dance moves. The act wouldn't be complete without his valet bringing out a large mirror so he could wipe the sweat of his brow and primp.
At one point, he exited the stage only to reemerge in a white trench; taking it to sultry heights with 'Gigolos Get Lonely Too.' His voice, honey-smooth, has held up wonderfully over the years. A lady was pulled from the audience who was willing to get a "little bit sexy and a little bit nasty." This call was for an erotic guitar solo that later evolved into a gaggle of volunteers being pulled on the stage for a collective booty shake.
The set ended with "The Bird" and "Jungle Love" amongst much audience participation. Spent, Day pulled a large white hanky from his pocket, wiped his brow and tossed it to the audience. Then he whipped out another, repeated and left the stage, leaving the audience in rapture of funk and nostalgia.

It's nothing for the record
and nothing to condemn
I was in between the waking life
Are you in?
But you walked into the party
and tell me to live up to a dream
We 'bout to get it stared
Took my guitar
So I can make this woman scream!
So I can make this woman scream!

It's time to check yourself out
Red bull and Patron
Ain't no rapper tryina be a singer
Oh, gonna make a move
Shot day into your face
I ain't been in god no place
But push some Hard Rock on
Better cover your ears
'Cause you're about to hear a woman just scream!
Uuh uh uh, scream!

She said, if I told you I never get to kiss you
I'm nearly gonna make a scene
I said be who you want me to be another rip in your jeans
That's when she caught it, drop berries
Drop to the beauty queen ???
My people turned her, and this woman screaming, scream, scream, scream
